Indian Medical Association (HQs.) celebrated "Mother's Day" at a special function at IMA House, New Delhi by organising educative and informative sessions for "would-be mothers" and their families.
The ceremony was attended by more than 50 women participants on the "family way" accompanied by their husbands and other relatives who were present at the venue enthusiastically since early morning.
Honorary Finance Secretary, IMA, Dr R N Tandon greeted each and every participant and faculty members individually with rose buds on behalf of Indian Medical Association.
While welcoming all the faculty members and participants, Dr Tandon wished all a very Happy Mother's Day and informed the need of organising educative session on the occasion of Mother's Day for the would-be mothers.
The learned faculty covered various topics of importance for expecting mothers which included (1) Issues related to all the Trimesters, (2) Preparations for delivery, (3) Ante natal and post natal care, (4) Precautions and warning signs during pregnancy, (5) Contraception, (6) Exclusive Breast feeding (7) Exercises, Nutrition & Hygiene, (8) Meditation and (9) Immunization.
The erudite faculty ensured that information delivered during the ceremony was easy to understand and interesting to the participants and their family members which kept all of them glued to their seats.
The learned faculty included famous and renowned Gynaecologists like Dr Vibha Tandon, Dr Vandana Gupta, Dr Nirupama Goyal, Dr Deepti Goyal, Dr Kiran Kukreja, Dr Abha Arora, Dr Kalpana Kumar, Dr Archana Verma, Dr Sangeeta Sharma, Dr Aruna Tewari, Dr Neelam Lekhi & Dr Neelam.
All the participants and faculty members were presented a token of appreciation and respect for their dedicated participation in the ceremony.
Honorary Joint Secretary, IMA and renowned Paediatrician, Dr Ramesh Datta, presented the Vote of thanks to the Faculty and gathering and wished all a very Happy Mother's Day. He also expressed his appreciation for M/s. Johnson and Johnson who had facilitated such an educative and academic event for the benefit of the society.
