Report of “Health Conclave”

on 22^nd March 2023 | at Hotel Le-Meridien

On the occasion of first day of Vikram Samvat. IMA organised a Health conclave at Hotel Le-Meridian with Parliamentarians It was an interactive meeting with Law makers and the medical fraternity to brief them about the work being done by IMA pan India

IMA is the biggest NGO of doctors of modern medicine with a strength of about 4 Lacks in 1750 Local branches.

The conclave was inaugurated by Speaker of Parliament Hon’ble Shri Om Birla.

About 70 members of Parliament participated, the majority of them were Doctors by profession.

National president Dr Sharad Agarwal welcomed them and highlighted the activities being done by IMA, as follows:

1. Aao Gaon Chalen. Very prestigious and popular project of IMA Every branch adopts one village in remote and rural area and provides there regular health check up / Vaccination and Anaemia free India and conducts a Health awareness program. More than 1040 villages have been already adopted by state and local Branches . More than 20 lacs people have been benefited through this project.
2. National President Dr Sharad Agarwal also highlighted the work done by IMA during COVID PANDEMIC. IMA sacrificed about 2000 Lives fighting COVID. Indian Management of COVID was also  praised globally and by WHO.
3. Helpline was started across the country to help the General public  2 millions call were received during PANDEMIC
4. IMA launched a -“IMA Psycho Social  Counselling “ to help Doctors / Nurses / health Workers
5. IMA is running 160 Blood banks throughout country. Nearly 1.20 lacs Units of blood were collected in 2500 Blood Donation camps
6. IMA is a partner with Govt. In eradicating TB since 1993
7. IMA is working on SAVE THE GIRL CHILD , SAY NO TO  PRE NATAL SEX DETERMINATION, ANAEMIA FREE INDIA, IMA AGAINST CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE, ANTI MICROBIAL RESISTANCE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN, POLIO ERADICATION PROGRAM, IMA & HIV CONTROL WITH Government of India.
8. National President Dr Sharad Agarwal also expressed his concern about VIOLENCE AGAINST HEALTHCARE WORKERS &  INTEGRATED MEDICINE
9. IMA volunteer to the Government for its support in social activities and all health related Projects.

Hon’ble Shri Om Birla ji appreciated the work done by iMA. He also condemned the violence against Doctors & health workers. He invited IMA for expert advice about health-related issues. Even he praised the conclave and asked IMA to organise such interactive meetings twice a year.

Mr Shashi Tharoor also condemned the violence and requested fellow members M P’s to raise their voices and support in Parliament. He even asked the members to move a Private Member Bill.

Dr Shantanu Sen who is also the past national president narrated about all issues.

Dr Sanjay Jaiswal a very vocal parliamentarian also supported the medical issues.

Dr Mahendra Munjapara, MoS Ayush & Woman and Child Development invited a meeting of the IMA Leaders to discuss about Integrated Medicine in detail.

Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad also expressed his concern about violence.

The prominent leaders of IMA Dr. Anilkumar J. Nayak, Honorary Secretary General, Imm. Past President - Dr Sahajanand Pd. Singh, Past National President & Chairman Action Committee, Dr Vinay Aggarwal, Finance Secretary – Dr. Shitij Bali, Dr. D R Rai, Dr. V K Monga, Dr. Prakash Lalchandani, Dr. Munish Prabhakar, Dr. Anand Prakash, Dr M Venkatachalapathy, Dr. Padmanabhan Thakur, Dr. Mangesh Pate, Dr. Sreejith N Kumar, Dr Narasinga Reddy, Dr Jayesh Lele, Dr Shivkumar Utture, Dr Vani, Shalabh Gupta, Dr Seema Varshney, Dr V B Jindal, Dr Subhash Aggarwal were also present in the meeting.
